RUSH: Fifty Somethings Tour

📅 Thursday, 1 April 2027 | 📍 St. Jakobshalle Basel

✨ About the event
In 2025, the GRAMMY®-nominated icons and RUSH co-founders Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals) and Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame®, announced their return to the stage for a special “FIFTY SOMETHING TOUR” in Canada, the USA, and Mexico in 2026 – celebrating RUSH’s music, their legacy, and the life of the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. The response was overwhelming – the first 22 dates sold out immediately, prompting the announcement of additional shows. The tour now includes 58 concerts in 24 cities, with over half a million tickets sold for 2026.

Today the band enthusiastically announces the addition of South America, UK, and Europe dates to the “Fifty Something Tour” in early 2027. These dates mark the band’s first European concerts since 2013 and their first visit to South America in 17 years. Across 24 shows in 13 countries, these special “Evening With” concerts will feature the band performing two sets each night. Each show will have a unique setlist, with RUSH selecting songs from a catalogue of over 40 tracks – including their biggest hits and fan favourites.

For the “Fifty Something Tour,” Lee and Lifeson will be joined by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed over 60 shows with Jeff Beck and released four solo albums. The band also announced they will be supported by keyboardist Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey).

Additionally, RUSH released the 50-track super deluxe anthology “RUSH 50,” which Rolling Stone called “an epic saga that works both as an introduction for newcomers and a companion for superfans alike.” “RUSH 50” is available in five different configurations and spans the band’s entire discography – from the first reissue of their 1973 debut single to a live recording of the final song Lee, Lifeson, and Peart performed together during the R40 tour finale at The Forum in Los Angeles.

On March 13, RUSH will also release an expanded box set edition of their tenth studio album, “Grace Under Pressure,” originally released in 1984. The box set includes a new album mix by Terry Brown and the complete live recording of their home concert at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in September 1984. Get ready to celebrate RUSH’s music live with Lee and Lifeson in 2026 and 2027.

About RUSH
RUSH pushed rock music into uncharted territory and unprecedented heights, driven by the unique interplay of Geddy Lee (bass, keys, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics). With over 45 million albums sold worldwide, seven GRAMMY® nominations, billions of streams, and inductions into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame®, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, this groundbreaking trio has influenced generations and built one of the most passionate fanbases in music history. The musicians reimagined and redefined rock music, combining virtuosic instrumentation, soaring vocals, provocative lyrics, and timeless storytelling. RUSH achieved the third-most consecutive Gold/Platinum studio albums of any rock band, behind the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Their honours include being named Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, receiving the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and stars on both the Canada Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On January 7, 2020, the world tragically lost Peart after his battle with a brain tumour. In tribute to Peart and their shared legacy, Lee and Lifeson will celebrate RUSH on tour in 2026 and 2027. It is a moment for new listeners to experience this music live in all its grandeur and for longtime fans to come together again.
