The show Boléro – HOMMAGE to MAURICE RAVEL will take place on January 22nd, 2025 in the St. Jakobshalle Basel.

FRANCECONCERT is proud to present a show whose choreography, staging, libretto and stage design were entirely conceived by the artistic team. This unique creation had great success on its first tour in 2016. Rediscover it in the 2024-2025 season! Maurice Ravel’s Boléro is a flagship of music and dance history and one of the most famous French works in the world.

As Ravel prepared for a four-month concert tour of the United States and Canada, Ida Rubinstein, his friend and patron, asked him to create a “ballet with a Spanish character.” Ravel, who had a flair for the idea of ​​dance, chose the Bolero, a traditional Andalusian dance. This is how work comes to life.
