RUSH: Fifty Somethings Tour
📅 Thursday, April 1, 2027 | St. Jakobshalle Basel | 📍 St. Jakobshalle Basel
✨ About the Event
In 2025, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame® inductees, GRAMMY®-nominated icons, and RUSH co-founders Geddy Lee (bass, keyboards, vocals) and Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals) announced their return to the stage for a very special “FIFTY SOMETHING TOUR” across Canada, the United States, and Mexico in 2026, celebrating the music and legacy of RUSH, as well as the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
The response was overwhelming. The first 22 dates sold out immediately, leading to the announcement of additional shows. The tour now includes 58 concerts across 24 cities, with more than half a million tickets sold for 2026.
Today, the band is excited to announce additional South American, UK, and European dates for the “Fifty Something Tour” in early 2027. These performances mark the band’s first European concerts since 2013 and their first visit to South America in 17 years.
Across 24 shows in 13 countries, these special “Evening With” performances will feature two sets each night. Every show will include a unique setlist, with RUSH selecting from a catalogue of more than 40 songs, including their biggest hits and fan favourites.
For the “Fifty Something Tour,” Lee and Lifeson will be joined by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed in more than 60 shows as drummer for Jeff Beck and has released four solo albums. The band also announced that keyboardist Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey) will join the tour.
In addition, RUSH recently released the 50-track super deluxe anthology “RUSH 50,” which Rolling Stone described as “an epic saga that works equally well as an introduction for newcomers and a companion piece for superfans.” Available in five different configurations, “RUSH 50” reflects the full scope of the band’s discography, beginning with the first-ever reissue of their 1973 debut single and ending with a live recording of the final song Lee, Lifeson, and Peart performed together during the R40 tour finale at The Forum in Los Angeles.
On March 13, RUSH will also release an expanded box set edition of their tenth studio album, “Grace Under Pressure,” originally released in 1984. The box set includes a new album mix by Terry Brown, along with the complete live recording of their hometown concert at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in September 1984.
Get ready to celebrate the music of RUSH in 2026 and 2027 together with Lee and Lifeson live on stage.
About RUSH
RUSH pushed rock music into unexplored territory and unprecedented heights, driven by the unique chemistry between Geddy Lee (bass, keyboards, vocals), Alex Lifeson (guitar, vocals), and the late Neil Peart (drums, lyrics).
With more than 45 million albums sold worldwide, seven GRAMMY® nominations, billions of streams, and inductions into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame®, and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, the influence of this groundbreaking trio has spanned generations and inspired one of the most passionate fan communities in music history.
These musicians effectively reimagined and redefined rock music through virtuosic instrumentation, anthemic vocals, thought-provoking lyrics, and timeless storytelling, both musically and thematically.
RUSH also achieved “the third most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band, behind only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.”
Among their many honours are their appointment as Officers of the Order of Canada in 1996, the Canadian Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in 2012, and stars on both Canada’s Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On January 7, 2020, the world sadly lost Neil Peart following his battle with brain cancer. In honour of Peart and the band’s shared legacy, Lee and Lifeson are celebrating RUSH in 2026 and 2027 with this tour.
It is an opportunity for new listeners to finally experience this music live in all its power, and another chance for the devoted fan community to come together once again.
